Presentation
Beyond
civil and political rights, the concept of citizenship now presupposes
an interrelationship with values like ethics, social equality, democracy,
justice, and human dignity. This vision, consistent with the contemporary
concept of health, is materialized through access to education, cultural
goods, leisure, and work.
More than a lesson to be taught, education for citizenship means preparing
individuals within a framework that involves dialogue, freedom, access,
and transformation.
Therefore, the Sergio Arouca National School of Public Health (ENSP/FIOCRUZ),
in keeping with its mission and experience with nationwide training of
professionals to work in the field of health, joins the Distance Education
Network Consortium (CREAD), an important vehicle for international dissemination
in Distance Education, in a invitation to reflect collectively on this
educational modality as a pathway to social justice and citizenship.
